Start your day like a true Phuket local with a breakfast of soft rice noodles, served with a variety of rich, flavourful curries such as crab curry, coconut curry, spicy chili paste and so on. These are paired with fresh, locally sourced vegetables and the unique Phuket-style dim sum or ‘Seo Boai,’ which includes steamed dumplings, buns, har gow, and bak kut teh, served alongside hot tea. There are many popular places to try these local dishes, including Mae Ting Khanom Chin, Pa Mai Khanom Chin, Ket Ho Dim Sum, Boonyarat Dim Sum, and Ratcharot Dim Sum. Don’t miss out on Phuket’s unique local dishes like ‘O-Tao,’ a stir-fried taro and seafood dish with a perfect blend of flavours; ‘Mi Hun,’ a dry-fried noodle served with a tasty pork bone broth; and ‘Po Pia Sot,’ a famous Hokkien-style fresh spring roll. For dessert, end your meal with ‘O-Aew,’ a refreshing jelly-like sweet made from the O-Aew seeds in sweet, chilled syrup – the perfect way to complete your culinary experience in Phuket.

Embark on a memorable adventure to Phang Nga Bay, a breathtaking natural wonder just a short distance from Phuket. Cruise through the emerald-green waters, surrounded by towering limestone karsts that rise dramatically from the sea. Explore hidden lagoons, stunning caves, and picturesque islands that dot the bay. Among the highlights is James Bond Island, made famous by its appearance in the movie “The Man with the Golden Gun.” Take in the panoramic views, explore the limestone caves, and capture stunning photographs of this iconic landmark.

While there’s no direct connection from Phuket to Phang Nga Bay, you can take the Blue songthaew buses to Phuket Bang Rong Pier, then catch a ferry to Manoh Pier on Koh Yao Noi before reaching Phang Nga Bay. There is a bus from Phuket Town to Phuket Bang Rong Pier runs roughly every 30 minutes, costing around 30 – 50 baht, and the journey takes an hour. The ferry ride from Bang Rong Pier to Manoh Pier takes about 30 minutes, departing every 4 hours and costing around 500 baht.

Our most recommended period to visit Phang Nga Bay is from mid-October to April. The weather is sunny with little rainfall, cooler temperatures, and less humidity, especially compared to December and January. However, this is also when most visitors head to Phang Nga Bay’s pristine waters and beaches. To avoid the crowds, consider visiting in the early morning or late evening. The best way to explore Phang Nga Bay is through organized tours, with full-day and half-day options available from Krabi, Phuket, and Khao Lak. Most tours follow a similar route, highlighting attractions like James Bond Island and the fishing village of Ko Panyi. Typically, you’ll navigate the bay by boat, with opportunities to swim at secluded beaches or kayak around limestone formations and sea caves.

Location: View on Google Maps

Bus time: Song-thaews leave roughly every 30 minutes from 06:00AM to 18:00PM, and a ride costs 30 to 50 baht.

Ferry time: Ferries leave roughly every 30 minutes.
Muay thai is the national sport and ancient cultural martial art of thailand

it originated from “Muay Boran”, it is a form of self-defense when a soldier lost his weapon on the battlefield – Muay Boran is partially credited in why Thailand being the only country that never got colonized.

In the early 1700s, Muay Thai became a sport outside of the army. During times of peace soldiers stayed busy by training muay thai at the time there were no rules people just fought each other until someone was left standing no rounds no time limit and rarely a referee.

In 1774 after the Burmese invasion in the Ayutthaya kingdom, a man named Nai Kanom Tom was captured as one of the thousands of Thai prisoners being held by the Burmese king.

A festival for their victory was being held and the Burmese king wanted to see if the style of Muay Boran held up

against his native Burmese boxing.

Nai Kanom Tom was chosen to face the champion of the Burmese kingdom and proceeded to knock him out.

The referee claimed the win was not valid because the Burmese champion was distracted by the music

the Burmese king then sent nine other fighters out to face nigh one by one without time breaks between the fights. They were put on the ground by the hands knees kicks and elbows of Nai Kanom Tom. Impressed by these abilities the Burmese King

granted Nai Khanom Tom and all of his Thai prisoners of war freedom.

This day is celebrated every year in Thailand on march 17th known as the Muay Thai day.
